What is Awana?
Awana is a fun and engaging discipleship program for children that helps them grow in their knowledge of God and His Word. The name Awana stands for "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed" (2 Timothy 2:15), reflecting our mission to equip kids to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ.
At First Baptist Grapeland, Awana is designed for kids from Preschool through 6th grade, providing age-appropriate curriculum, Scripture memory, exciting games, and meaningful lessons that build a strong spiritual foundation.
Each week, children participate in:
-
Bible Lessons – rooted in Scripture and presented in a way kids can understand and apply.
-
Small Group Time – where caring leaders guide kids through memory verses and real-life application.
-
Game Time – high-energy activities that promote teamwork, fun, and encouragement.
Awana is more than just a program—it's a ministry that reaches kids and their families with the gospel of Christ, helping them build lifelong faith.
We’d love for your child to join us on this journey of faith and fun!
AWANA Cubbies - Preschool

Our Cubbies program meets these needs through one powerful tool: FUN — and lots of it!
Awana is fun with a purpose — to reach and train kids for Jesus Christ.
-
Games
-
Puppets
-
Crafts
-

-

These elements transform our preschool program into a lively, exciting experience where learning and fun go hand in hand.
We’d love for your child to join us as we grow in faith, friendship, and God’s love!
